This lovely handcrafted Tibetan Gau (also spelled Ghau or Gao) is beautifully done in Copal and is embellished with sterling silver, coral, and turquoise.
A gau is a prayer box or vessel that is used to carry strong amulets (totems, idols, fetishes, talismans, juju, lucky charms).

 In Tibet a gau is most often employed to carry a prayer or blessed mantra.


This pretty gau has 2 bailes. One for hanging from a ribbon or necklace, and the second which  may be used to hang charms.
Gaus may also be worn horizontally, with each baile connected to your necklace.
